Monterra, LLC ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website getmonterra.com (the "Service"). Monterra is an AI-powered platform that generates permit-ready commercial electrical drawings, including single-line diagrams, panel schedules, load calculations, arc-flash studies, and permit plan-review packages. Our users are licensed electrical engineers, engineering firms, and commercial contractors who upload project specifications and receive complete, stamped-ready drawing sets in return.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from engineers and contractors who use the Service, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have. It applies to information collected through getmonterra.com and through direct communications with us.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

We collect information you submit directly, including:

• Account registration details (name, email address, phone number, engineering firm name, professional license number where provided);
• Project specifications you upload or enter to generate drawing sets, which may include site address, load data, equipment schedules, and electrical system parameters for the commercial project;
• Communication and support messages you send us.

Project specification data is processed solely to generate the requested drawing set, verify NEC compliance parameters, and deliver the finished permit package. We do not use project drawing content to train or improve AI models without your explicit written consent.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit getmonterra.com, we automatically collect limited technical information:

• IP address and approximate location (city/region level);
• Browser type, operating system, device class;
• Pages visited, referring URLs, time on page;
• Cookie and similar identifiers (see Section 5).

2.3 We Do Not Knowingly Collect Children's Data

getmonterra.com is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Generate, deliver, and store permit-ready drawing sets in response to project specification inputs submitted by engineers and contractors;
• Authenticate users and manage accounts on the Service;
• Respond to inquiries and provide customer support;
• Send service updates, drawing-delivery notifications, and (with your consent where required) feature announcements;
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud or abuse of the Service;
• Comply with legal obligations, including recordkeeping requirements applicable to professional-services software.

We do not sell personal information for monetary value. Where applicable state law treats certain advertising arrangements as a "sale" or "share," see your state's section below.

4. Sharing of Information

We share personal information only with:

• Service providers acting on our behalf, including cloud infrastructure providers (hosting and file storage), transactional email services, and usage analytics platforms, each operating under contractual confidentiality terms that restrict use to providing services to us;

We do not sell personal information to third parties. Project drawing data submitted by engineering firms is not disclosed to any party other than the submitting firm and the sub-processors required to deliver the Service.

6. Data Retention

We retain account and project data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to allow you to retrieve completed drawing sets. Marketing contact records for individuals who did not become active users are purged after 24 months. Server access logs are retained 90 days, then aggregated. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 60 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information and project drawing data, including TLS encryption in transit, access-controlled storage for project files, and least-privilege access controls for our engineering and operations team. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your General Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including access, correction, deletion, and the ability to limit certain processing. To make a request, email [email protected]. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

9. Colorado Residents (CPA)

Monterra is headquartered in Denver, Colorado, and takes its obligations under the Colorado Privacy Act ("CPA") seriously. The following rights apply to Colorado residents with respect to personal data we control.

9.1 Your CPA Rights

• Right of Access: confirm whether we are processing your personal data and obtain a copy.
• Right to Correction: correct inaccuracies, considering the nature and purposes of processing.
• Right to Deletion: request deletion of personal data concerning you.
• Right to Data Portability: obtain a portable copy where technically feasible (up to twice per year).
• Right to Opt Out: opt out of (a) targeted advertising, (b) sale of personal data, and (c) profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

9.2 Universal Opt-Out Mechanism

We honor browser-transmitted universal opt-out signals, including the Global Privacy Control ("GPC"), as a request to opt out of sale and targeted advertising. Configuring GPC in your browser is sufficient; no separate request is required.

9.5 California Visitors

If you are a California resident visiting from another state, you may also exercise the rights granted under the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") and California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA"), including the right to know, the right to delete, the right to correct, and the right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information and do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
